Some patients may be unable to create their own Anima account, or would prefer not to create an account. Plus, patients may continue to ring or visit the practice to seek help for their requests. You can still manage these patients' requests via Anima by submitting a request on their behalf (a proxy request, or an 'e-lite'). Care home patients can have their requests filtered through Anima in the following way: Register the care home as a patient with a fake NHS number (e.g. 1111111111) Ask the care home to add each resident as a dependent. This will allow them to submit and manage requests on behalf of all residents. How do I know that requests are only from patients registered at our practice? Anima will cross-check the information that patients submit when they register for an Anima account against the NHS personal demographics service (PDS), to verify that the patient is registered at your practice. If patients create an Anima account with details that are different from the EHR (SystmOne/EMIS), we won’t allow the account to be created until someone at the practice manually verifies the patient.
